The company was started on Long Island, NY in 1977 by 20 year commercial fisherman and passenger vessel operator, Chris Mahlstedt.

The company has grown substantially over the years providing specialty insurance programs to boat owners throughout the northeast, eastern seaboard and other select states throughout the US.
